AMD Radeon RX 7000 require the same power supplies as RX 6000
The calculator for selecting a power supply from Seasonic has been updated and now contains data on the three AMD Radeon RX 7000 graphics cards. This information, in theory, can be received directly from AMD, but it is also likely that it is only a plug for the future. Nevertheless, the current data in the calculator of the system consumption informs us that the RX 7900 XT, RX 7800 XT and RX 7700 XT will require exactly the same power supplies that their predecessors from 6000 series were required: 850 W for systems with older video cards and 750 W for the system with the youngest from the list.
Also, these data may indicate that the RX 7000 graphics cards will not use 16-pin power connectors, because the power supplies recommended by the calculator do not have native support for those. This, by the way, will not be something amazing, because, as the insiders report, video cards on RDNA 3 were developed before the finalization of this standard.
