The MCU tried terror once: What went wrong?

Launched last October, Helstrom is probably the least successful project of the overwhelming Marvel Cinematic Universe. The series tried to combine the family formula of superhero with fear of jumps and body horror, but it was totally in the dark.

Helstrom was launched in Hulu shortly before the past Halloween with a cold critical reception, very little fanfare, a minimal social discussion and a quick cancellation. The series, adapted from a less known Marvel comic, was the last project of the Marvel Television brand before it was reabsorbed in Marvel Studios.

In the now 12 years of history of the MCU, the creators have published innumerable hours of content between cinema and television. While the multimedia empire has innovated in several fascinating forms, regularly changing the tone and configuration, almost always remains blocked in the same genre. In general, almost every minute of Marvel's media is action, which seeks to captivate massive pieces and well-choreographed combats. Helstrom is MCU's first attempt in a series of terror, which tragically failed flatly.
