This is the scene that was deleted from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 1

It sounds like a joke, but the movie that gave rise to the Guardians of the Galaxy was released eight long years ago, which had a comedy twist that fans liked a lot. However, like any work of cinema, it has deleted scenes, and now the film's director, James Gunn, has given us a glimpse of one of those.

Specifically, the scene that was removed sees the character of Groot as the protagonist, doing an exact recreation of the Leonardo Da Vinci painting, The Last Supper, in which Jesus with his Apostles. Only this time, the being made of wood plays the role of the messiah, along with some aliens who keep him company.

It is worth mentioning that the director commented that the scene was eliminated due to a reason that few could imagine, as Gunn confirms that it is an interruption to the flow of the story. This may eliminate the thought that it was for religious reasons, and if it is for the sake of the plot, at least he would have been grateful to see in extra material.

The Guardians of the Galaxy have an expiration time, at least with James Gunn, as the last tape is currently being recorded to have its third and final chapter on May 5, 2023 . Meanwhile, a series based on Groot himself will be coming to Disney Plus and by the end of 2022**, they are going to release a Christmas special on this same service.

Remember that they also make a cameo in Thor: Love and Thunder.
